This category is a catch-all for agates that have lacy patterns. Some of my lace agate rocks came from collecting adventures as a child. I couldn't tell you exactly where, other than somewhere in the Mojave desert.
I recently bought one piece called 'crazy lace' from a vendor at a rock show. I recall he said it was from western Texas. It was about 7 pounds and appeared to be mixed with a red jasper. The 'red jasper' turned out to be a soft and porous material that just crumbled when cut. Fortunately, the lacy stuff produced some dazzling little Mendlebrot patterns.
