Nyssa plume agate comes from Oregon
Thanks to my friends on the lapidary forum, I was able to ID this specimen which came from an estate sale. This piece also introduced me to flame agate which is something I plan to be on the lookout for. This Nyssa stuff has the same patterning as the flame agate, only softer pastel in coloring.
It's nice to work with but there are pits and vugs that prevent a flawless surface. If you don't mind a few pores, this makes some interesting cabs.
