Flame Agate is a species of agate that usually comes from a seam where agate has formed and minerals have left firey (is that a word?) looking red plumes. Not to be confused with fire agate, which is a different animal altogether.
Two types of flame agate that I'm aware of are Bay of Fundy and Mexican. I wish I had some of the former, but I don't. However, I do have a few small slabs of Mexican flame agate. The red plumes are quite striking when properly cut and polished.
