This jasper is a cousin to the well-known Gary Green jasper, AKA Larsonite as it comes from the same vicinity. Although it doesn't share the blue and greens, rather it has grain and coloring of a hard wood. I got a couple pieces somewhere along the way that ended up on my rock wall. It was years before I finally identified what exactly it was and where from.
It is very hard and polishes to a high shine. Unlike the GG I've worked with, it doesn't fracture when cut.
